General cargo vessels GUANG YUN and JI XIN 9 collided at around 0300 LT Nov 14 near Nanpeng island, off Shantou, Guangdong province, Taiwan Strait. Assumedly JI XIN 9 struck GUANG YUN portside, inflict serious damages and breaching the hull in fore area. Vessel started to take on water, developing list portside and forward trim. 26 crew abandoned vessel and went on board of JI XIN 9, later they’ve been transferred on board of Coast Guard salvage vessel. Salvage team boarded GUANG YUN and took water ingress under control, salvage under way. No leak reported. GUANG YUN was en route from Zhoushan to Dong Guan.
