Update: All 7 crew were rescued by a cargo ship, at around 1130 Moscow time. Tug couldn’t hold against waves because of steering failure.
Port tug SQUALL reported sinking at 0655 Moscow time Sep 8 in Kerch Strait, about 2 nm south of Kerch Bridge, 7 crew went into life raft. Tug was caught in rough weather, most probably couldn’t hold against waves, and was flooded. As of 1130 Moscow time, tug Mercury, deployed in SAR, spotted raft but can’t approach it because of high waves.
