Container ship TZINI ran aground in the morning Jan 15 while proceeding to Chittagong port from outer anchorage in position 22 13N 091 48E, on channel’s edge. According to The Daily Star report, grounding was caused by a fishing vessel, which suddenly appeared on ship’s course, in a dense fog. TZINI had to make a turn to avoid collision. Traffic was hampered. In the evening container ship was refloated, with coming high tide, and taken back to anchorage. As of 0400 UTC Jan 16, TZINI was still at anchor. No information on damages.
