General cargo vessel AMUR-36 ran aground in Zolotaya Bay, Primorye region, Japan Sea, in vicinity 47 19N 138 56E some 500 meters off the coast, at around 1940 LT (UTC+10) Dec 3, reportedly in stormy weather. Vessel was anchored, anchor dragged, vessel drifted aground. Vessel in ballast, 14 crew didn’t issue distress signal. According to preliminary report from Ministry of Emergencies Far Eastern Branch, hull breached in engine room steering compartment, and ballast tanks areas. Salvage tug Rubin (IMO 8033883) left Nevelsk port (Sakhalin) and is steaming to the distressed vessel.
