LEAH troubled in Pentland Firth

General cargo vessel LEAH ran into trouble in the morning Nov 27, while en route from Rotterdam to Straumsvik, in Pentland Firth between Caithness and Orkney, North sea. From available information it can be ascertained, that the vessel suffered mechanical trouble in rough weather, dropped an anchor or both anchors, but anchor dragged, vessel started to drift and asked for assistance. One anchor was lost. Two lifeboats were alerted and sailed to distressed LEAH. Vessel’s crew managed to fix mechanical problem, vessel resumed sailing. She was escorted by life boats while transiting Pentland Firth.
