Vietnamese fishing vessel CM 99596-TS sank after being struck by hit&run ship in the afternoon Jun 22 in Gulf of Siam, some 70 nm SW of Hon Khoai island, eastern Gulf of Siam. The ship sailed to Thailand waters. 7 crew were rescued by nearby fishing vessel, all are reported to be well.
CM 99596-TS fishermen, according to Vietnamese news outlets (https://www.nguoiduatin.vn/xac-minh-tau-ca-cua-ngu-dan-ca-mau-bi-tau-hang-dam-chim-tren-bien-a439146.html), claim they spotted hit&run ship’s name, identifying her as Singapore-flagged OCEAN UNICORN. It’s an Aframax tanker, she docked at Map Ta Put, Thailand, late at night Jun 23.
Information with regards to ship’s identity is not yet verified or officially confirmed. Interestingly, though, ship’s AIS track has a visible gap between Jun 21 and Jun 23, with rather curious records:
