Bulk carrier PERSENK and general cargo ship AHMET CAN reportedly collided in Marmara sea, at around 1030 UTC May 18, in area between Marmara island and port of Tekirdag. Both ships were heading to Dardanelles, both reported damaged. PERSENK immediately after collision turned to Tekordag and anchored at around 1230 UTC, sailing either at reduced speed or under tow. AHMET CAN took to stb and headed for Hoskoy, where she made a sharp turn and headed for, seemingly, Tekirdag anchorage, also proceeding at reduced speed.
PERSENK is en route from Istanbul to Ashdod, AHMET CAN is en route from Istanbul to Izmir.
