Bulk carrier HAZAR went NUC after reportedly, steering failure, in the morning Aug 13 in Bosphorus, while transiting Strait in southern direction, en route from Constanta Romania to Livorno Italy, right below Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge. The ship narrowly escaped hitting one of the famous historical mansions on Strait’s embankment, by dropping her anchors and probably, reversing engine to full astern. Shortly after full stop, the ship resumed moving under own power, made a loop and safely completed transit. She was brought to anchor at anchorage in Marmara sea. As of 1330 UTC, bulk carrier was still at anchor.
