Product tanker KEY MARMARA suffered a blackout at around 1420 LT Nov 21 in Maas estuary while sailing out to sea in a rough weather. Vessel was dangerously close to dam with wind and waves pushing her towards dam, and dropped both anchors. Anchors dragged, vessel resumed drifting towards dam. Pilot boat, tug and KNRM lifeboat, which were nearby, steamed to assist. Tanker was taken on tow and prevented from drifting on dam, later she was towed to Vlaardingen and then safely docked in Vopak, Netherlands.
