Bulk carrier contacted bottom Jul 2 Update

Jul 2: SUMATRA is still at anchor waiting for second tug, to be towed to a safe anchorage, where she wouldn’t hamper traffic. The ship sustained undefined damages, probably disabled.

Jun 29: Bulk carrier SUMATRA contacted bottom at around 0800 UTC Jun 28 in Canal Messier, Chilean fjords Magellan Region, in vicinity 48 12S 074 25W, while proceeding in southern direction from northern Chile, en route to Punta Arenas. The ship resumed moving and was brought to anchor north of Puerto Eden, to undergo inspection. At 0230 UTC Jun 29 she was in the same position.
