Panamax container ship aground Update refloated

Container ship ZIM NEW YORK ran aground at around 0600 UTC Jun 6 in Vung Tau - Thi Vai Channel veering off fairway in buoys 11 and 12 area, while en route to Cai Mep International Container Terminal, Saigon Newport, Vietnam. Traffic wasn’t affected, no visible damages reported, the ship ran aground at low water. The ship was refloated early in the morning local time Jun 7 with coming tide, and brought to anchor at outer anchorage Vung Tau. As of 0200 UTC Jun 7, ZIM NEW YORK was in the same position at anchor. The ship is deployed in ZMP service, she arrived from Port Klang, Malaysia. Photo Vung Tau Port Authority.
