Dutch general cargo vessel EEMS TRAVELLER reported propulsion failure to MRCC Corsen, France, at 1114 CET Dec 7, being disabled some 15 nm off Portsall, France, Celtic sea, north of Ushant. MRCC Corsen sent SAR ship ABEILLE BOURBON (IMO 9308687) to distressed vessel. ABEILLE BOURBON was on standby near distressed freighter until it became clear, that the crew can’t fix the problem by own means. At 1250 manager of freighter contracted Abeilles International for salvage, at 1542 EEMS TRAVELLER was taken on tow by ABEILLE BOURBON to be towed to Brest, where she arrived at night same day, and was docked. EEMS TRAVELLER with 2000 tons of steel on board is en route from Gijon Spain to Rotterdam.
