Cargo ship LIAN HE 36 was beached by storm on Oct 13 at Changhua County, western Taiwan coast. Crew were evacuated, operation was under way to prevent possible pollution. Early in the morning Oct 15 another mishap befell the ship, this time fire, which erupted in ship’s superstructure. Fire was extinguished by firefighters, damage said to be extensive.
