General cargo vessel LADY ALIDA suffered engine failure at around 0230 UTC Mar 20 west of Lizard, southernmost UK, and started to drift. Two RNLI lifeboats were alerted and went to assist. Reportedly vessel was brought to anchor, lifeboats assisting her to hold on in rough weather, until arrival of tug, to tow LADY ALIDA to safe waters of Mount’s Bay. As of 1100 UTC Mar 20, according to AIS, not tug in sight yet, one RNLI lifeboat being near troubled freighter, another one sailing in their direction. LADY ALIDA with cargo of sand is en route from Terneuzen Netherlands to Waterford Ireland.
