GADWALL towage completed, vessel lost rudder

GADWALL arrived on tow at Ghent on Jan 27, most probably for offloading. On Jan 31 she was relocated to Vlissingen, Netherland. Vessel lost rudder, as can be seen on photos from tugspotter.com. As of Jan 7, bulk carrier GADWALL was still under tow, in North Atlantic, south of Santa Maria Island, Azores, bound for Ghent Belgium. Tugs SMIT NICOBAR (IMO 9322592) and CENTAURUS (IMO 9433755) are deployed in towage. ETA Ghent Jan 26.

Bulk carrier GADWALL was disabled due to unspecified trouble, most probably engine or mechanical failure, on Oct 29 in Gulf of St. Lawrence, en route from Quebec Canada to Ghent Belgium. Vessel was taken on tow by tug OCEAN ARCTIQUE (IMO 9261607) on Nov 1, to be towed to Sept-Iles. As of 1300 UTC Nov 2, convoy was heading for Sept-Iles at some 5 knots speed.
