Landing craft EMERALD EXPRESS was caught in hurricane Joaquin and pushed aground on Oct 1 on Crooked Island. Vessel was thrown 21 miles inland to Horse Pond, Crooked Island, where she is still remaining, in a mangrove swamp. Four out of eight crew are still on board. Salvage is due to start this week, reportedly taking vessel back to sea will take a month or so. Bahamas Electricity Corporation (BEC) said to be engaged in salvage.
